Find out agents needed for protection to Azure via DPM

Q. If I want to protect servers with Data Protection Manager which stores the data in Azure what agents are required on the various boxes?

A. System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) initially protects data to its direct storage but can then store data in Azure for longer term retention or simply to meet off-site storage requirements. To enable integration with Azure Backup the Microsoft Azure Recovery Service (MARS) agent must be installed on the DPM server. On the other OS instances that are being protected by DPM they require the DPM agent but do NOT require the MARS agent. Only the OS instance that integrates with Azure Backup, i.e. the DPM server, requires the MARS agent.
