Sundog Technologies joined the SyncML Industry Initiative, a consortium devoted to developing and promoting open data synchronization protocols and facilitating unrestricted information access and delivery to mobile devices.Sundog’s flagship product, Universal Update, automates extracting data from any data source and moving it to a neutral environment where it can be distributed to target systems, including handheld devices. Universal Update has extended seamless integration for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase, and added platform support for Linux and Windows 2000.“Since handheld computing devices … are clearly the future mobile computing platform, Sundog is focused on providing a universal conduit to extract information from corporate data sources and distribute the data to these devices without custom programming,” says Alan Rudd, Sundog Technologies’ president and CEO.
