SQL Server 2000 has claimed eWEEK's 2001 eXcellence Award for best enterprise systems development tool. An eWEEK press release about the award winners says, "Microsoft Corp.'s SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition combines a rich set of data management tools with ease and economy of tuning and administration. SQL Server 2000 is a programmable database management and data analysis platform, ready for the XML-based future of enterprise data integration."The awards program, formerly known as the PCWeek "Best of Comdex" Awards, recognized the best new e-business products and services introduced during the year 2000. eWEEK received nearly 1,000 entries from 600 companies.
