Splashtop App Lets Developers Test Windows 8 Apps on the iPad
Splashtop has released its Win8 Metro Testbed, an app that lets developers simulate a Windows 8 environment on the Apple iPad.

Splashtop has released its Win8 Metro Testbed, a remote-desktop app that lets developers simulate a Windows 8 environment on the Apple iPad. With this app, users can test native Metro UI touch gestures on an iPad as they code new apps on their Windows PC.
"Since Apple's App Store generates over 80 percent of all tablet app revenue, nearly every software developer that writes apps for the tablets has an iPad. With Windows 8 Metro expected to ship on over 400 million new PCs and tablets annually, these developers have high expectations for an enormous new market," said Mark Lee, chief executive officer and cofounder of Splashtop.
The Win8 Metro Testbed enables native Windows 8 Metro touch gestures, including the following:
Swipe from the right to view the Charms menu.
Swipe from the left to switch apps.
Swipe left or right in Internet Explorer (IE) to move between web pages.
Swipe down on an item to select it.
Swipe down to bring up additional menus.
Pull down from the top to close an app.
