Today Microsoft has released one of the final pieces to its elimination of Lync branding.

Today Microsoft is bringing Skype for Business to its own mobile platform and is the company's next step in attempting to finally eliminate all remnants of its previously branded Lync product completely. Available from the Windows Phone store, this new Skype for Business app will either transform your currently installed Lync 2013 app, or allow you to get a new installation.
Skype for Business only supports Windows Phone 8.1 or later and is ready to support Windows 10 Mobile when it arrives later this year.
How to get it:
For those with the Lync 2013 app already installed, when Windows Phone checks for updated apps, Skype for Business will download and install to replace Lync. So, you don't really have to do a thing – just wait for the update and remember to look for the new icon.
For those without Lync 2013 installed, you can grab Skype for Business here: Skype for Business
If you're currently stuck using a device running Windows Phone 8.0, you're also stuck running Lync 2013 or Lync 2010. These will remain for backwards compatibility purposes and Microsoft ensures that they will continue to work even if your company has deployed Skype for Business Server in the organization.
