July 29, 2010
Oracle's Summer School Webcasts are aimed at IT managers, project managers, database architects, DBAs and developers and are available now. They are all free to view and aim to explain the benefits of a number of new Oracle/Sun hardware/software offerings.
There are eight webcasts to choose from. The first is on maximum availability and explains how Oracle Database 11g Release 2 can revolutionise high availability though built-in features that protect from unplanned downtime while eliminating idle redundancy. The second, on extreme performance, explains how Oracle is building on the success of the Oracle Database Machine with the introduction of Oracle Exadata V2 to deliver faster performance and the flexibility to consolidate data warehousing and OLTP applications on the same server.
A third, on database management, looks at Oracle Database 11g Release 2 ’s new management capabilities, while the fourth covers data security and explains how to adopt a database security strategy and looks at new solutions that offer protection for Oracle and non-Oracle databases alike.
The next three webcasts deal with upgrading SAP applications to Oracle Database 11g Release 2, cloud computing with Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Grid Infrastructure, and why Sun SPARC Servers are the number one platform for Oracle DB.
The final Oracle's Summer School webcast looks at Sun Storage for Oracle 11gR2 and comes in two parts. The first half explains how users can accelerate Oracle 11gR2 databases with Sun flash technology. Part two presents an architecture for fast and secure backup and restore using Sun Storage S7000 appliances and Sun StorageTek Tape Libraries.
All Oracle Summer School Webcasts will run until September 13, 2010. Registration is free.
