A:For System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) 2012 to perform the automatic mapping to iSCSI targets for Hyper-V hosts, there are tworequirements:

  • The Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Service must be set to start automatically and be started.

  • The MPIO feature must be installed.

After these are enabled, you need to refresh the Hyper-V host within the SCVMM fabric. After the refresh is complete, the ability to add a new iSCSISession will be available via the Storage tab of the host properties in the fabric.

Add a connection to the storage array configured in SCVMM, then add aconnection to a specific LUN and SCVMM will take care of actually connecting the Hyper-V host to the iSCSI target and performing any zoning on the actualiSCSI target (see screen shot below).
