Q: How do I set a different background picture in Windows 8 for each monitor?

Multiple monitors in Windows 8 can have different backgrounds--here's how to set it up.

A: Windows 8 has the native ability to set a different image as the background on each display. To enable, open the Personalization control panel applet by right-clicking the desktop and selecting Personalize.

Click the Desktop Background action at the bottom of the displayed dialog, which opens the Desktop Background customization screen. Browse to the required location where the images are, then right-click an image and configure for the desired monitor. (See screen shot below.)
