Q: How do I print in Windows 8 from applications such as the PDF reader?

Windows 8's PDF reader requires a little extra effort on the user's part before printing.

A: Windows 8 applications provide a consistent interaction experience for the user. However, initially it might be hard to ascertain how to print. But after you understand the interaction model, it's actually very simple. 

  1. Open the Devices charm (keyboard Windows key + K or swipe in from right and select Devices)

  2. Select the Printer (but notice also access to additional screens and other types of device)

  3. After selecting the Printer, set the options and select Print.
