How to configure the Windows 8 taskbar for multiple monitor use.

A: Windows 8 features a task bar that displays across multiple monitors. By default, application icons of pinned and opened applications are shown on all monitors.

This behavior can be changed so that non-primary monitors show icons only for applications that are visible on that monitor. To change the behavior, perform the following:

  1. Right-click  the taskbar, and select Properties.

  2. In the Multiple displays area, select the required option on the drop-down menu under Show taskbar buttons on. (See screen shot below.)
