Good news -- if you're running System Center Update Rollup 4, it's okay to skip versions 5 and 6, then deploy Update Rollup 7.

Q. Do I have to update my System Center version numbers in sequential order?

Q. If I am currently running an update rollup that's a few versions behind the most recent one, can I just skip the in-between versions and deploy the most recent one to System Center?

A. Yes. If, for example, you are running Update Rollup 4 then it is OK to deploy Update Rollup 7 to it. You do not have to deploy 5 and 6 first.

Make sure you read the release notes thoroughly for any actions required such as backing up databases and running actions post install.
