OneNote Collaborative Improvements Roll Out Today

Today Microsoft is announcing a couple improvements for OneNote online to further emphasize that OneNote can, in fact, be used as a collaborative tool for businesses and colleagues, and even as a note sharing mechanism for families and friends.

The two new features added to day, announced on the Office Blogs, are:

People Presence – People Presence makes it obvious who else is currently working in a Shared notebook through a drop-down component in OneNote Online. It shows the current page, as well as, other pages where users may be working.

Improved Syncing – Synching has been improved to make edits, changes, and additions to seem near real-time to allow enhanced collaboration.

Note that these features are solely for OneNote Online, not the offline OneNote legacy and Modern applications.
