One of my favorite SQL Server code-name Denali features

At this year’s PASS conference in Seattle Microsoft announced the most important new features in the next release of SQL Server. There were some cool features like the AlwaysOn functionality that provides increased availability. However, one of my favorites was one of the most simple: support for SQL Server on Windows Server Core. SQL Server is an infrastructure service and running on Server Core means less patching and less overhead which results in greater availability.

There were some cool features like the AlwaysOn functionality that provides increased availability. However, one of my favorites was one of the most simple: support for SQL Server on Windows Server Core.
