New Windows 10 Mobile build for Insiders progressing well

Many Windows Insiders spent the weekend bummed that Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536 (1003) was pulled from testers at the last minute due to an upgrade bug.

Hopefully, they took a few minutes to get some fresh air and are now ready for the likely release of Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536 (1004) this week.

Gabe Aul has once again taken to Twitter to update Insiders on the Windows team progress over this past weekend towards releasing an updated build to testers.

This build will be the first in over a month for Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring for Windows 10 Mobile.

According to Aul, build 10536.1004 was pushed to the final Microsoft testing ring Sunday afternoon and the data the team uses to decide on promoting that build to Insiders is looking good so far.

Currently the target time frame for that push to the Insider Fast Ring is Tuesday morning Microsoft time (Pacific time zone) however, staging does take some time so it would not likely be available until later in the day.

You may have read that about 200 testers actually received build 10536.1003 even though it had been pulled by Microsoft. It is good to see the initial reports of the builds performance as being improved over 10512 but those users will have to flash their phones back to Windows Phone 8.1 in order to get build 10536.1004. That is the bug which caused the build to pulled in the first place of course.

He has also confirmed the Windows Store bug is fixed in the new build, that there are Edge improvements and that it has continued to receive performance enhancements as well.

Now one more caveat – this is test software – anything can happen. While everything looks like we will see this new build in the next 24-36 hours everyone should manage their expectations.

Microsoft is being upfront about the processes that are involved in getting Windows builds to testers and it is a very dynamic environment as we learned last week with the cancelled build.

Flexibility and patience are key elements of coming along for this ride as Windows Insiders.
