Job-hunters, take heart: If you have the latest Microsoft software, the company is here to help you become more attractive to employees.

Since remote interviews are becoming more common, Microsoft's rolled out a how-to primer for conducting yourself during a Skype interview. The advice, developed with career consultant Maxie McCoy, includes tips like:

Make sure your Skype profile -- which includes a headshot and status message -- comes off as professional.

Try to remember to wear pants -- I'm paraphrasing here, but don't do the "Interview attire on top, party on the bottom" outfit, because you might have to stand up during the interview.

Practice your on-camera demeanor before you actually have to go on camera during a call.

Mentally prepare for how you'll handle distractions. This could be anything from a cat jumping up and walking across the desk to your mom shouting about how she bought you Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

But Microsoft's not here just for the interview prep. They've also provided three resume and cover letter templates -- "creative," "crisp and clean" and "classic" -- for Office 365 users. And those of you who want to show off your Sway skills can now use the resume, portfolio or blog templates for "digital storytelling." The templates were designed by MOO (a design firm). You can find them all here.
