Microsoft Releases WMF 5.0 into Production Preview
The next version of PowerShell and related components is very close to official release. Microsoft has now released what could be the last preview before the official version.

A new revision of the Windows Management Framework (WMF) 5.0 has been delivered and available from the Microsoft Download Center. Microsoft has been steadily improving WMF over the past many months and today's release is an indication that an official version is close.
WMF is the component that includes Windows PowerShell 5.0, the Integrated Scripting Environment (ISE), Desired State Configuration (DSE), and new PowerShell Cmdlets designed to work with the company's latest operating systems (client and server).
This release is unique in that it is a "Production Preview" instead of just a public preview. According to Microsoft this means that WMF is stable enough that the company will support this version for a full 90 days after WMF 5.0 RTMs, and that its production-ready, or feature complete with no experimental features.
