Microsoft Consolidates Further, Pares Down to Four External Mega-Events

Over the past couple years, Microsoft has been working to fine tune it’s public event offerings. IT Pros know this all too well. Some very popular, long-standing events were rolled up into Microsoft Ignite last year.

The company has now settled on four distinct mega-events, offered to four distinct customer audiences. If you’ve been following our IT/Dev Connections blog, you’ll recognize these as what we term “Keynote Conferences.”

The latest round of consolidation was announced yesterday, with the unveiling of Microsoft Envision. Envision replaces Microsoft Convergence as the premier event for business leaders and Microsoft Dynamics technical content will move to Microsoft Ignite.

Here’s the new list in order of schedule:

  • Build – March 30 to April 1, 2016 – San Francisco, CA. Intended for: developers.

  • Envision – April 4-6, 2016 – New Orleans, LA. Intended for: business leaders and decision makers.

  • WPC – July 10-14, 2016 – Toronto, Canada. Intended for: partners.

  • Ignite – September 26-30, 2016 – Atlanta, GA. Intended for: IT Pros.
