The Visual Studio announcements from Microsoft are coming thick and fast this week. Yesterday at VS Live! the corporation announced Visual Studio LightSwitch (check out my blog on the LightSwitch news). Today Microsoft announced Visual Studio Lab Management 2010 will Release to Web at the end of August.

According to a Microsoft press release, Lab Management is an integrated development and testing platform that provides end-to-end support for virtual lab management and leverages the existing Visual Studio application lifecycle management platform to deliver self-servicing environment provisioning for application deployment and test execution.  Lab Management is available at no cost to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate and Test Professional customers who have an MSDN subscription.

The press release notes that Visual Studio Lab Management 2010 is a private cloud solution that enables teams to quickly provision virtual environments. These environments enable organizations to easily develop and test against a predictable base state, lowering the risk associated with software development due to unpredictable build processes and test environments.
