At this year’s PASS conference in Seattle Microsoft announced the next release of SQL Server code-named “Denali”. Some of the important new features in the Denali release include:
SQL Server AlwaysOn for improved availability
A new high performance column store technology code-named “Apollo”
A new BI and web development environment code-named Juneau”
A new web-based data visualization tool code-named “Crescent”
SQL Server Data Quality Services for improved data integration capabilities
Support for running SQL Server on Windows Server Core
