It’s the Little Things: Microsoft Health Notifications Easier to Configure in Latest App Update

Microsoft Band customers have seen steady increases in abilities and value for their choice of fitness wearable, thanks to the Microsoft Band team’s knack at delivering updates once or twice a month. Microsoft has been very good at listening to customer request and delivering on them through major new features. But, in addition to the big feature additions, the team continues to also refine the experience through small nuanced enhancements.

In the latest update, the big news is Heart Rate Zones and Cortana support for Android. But, once you start digging into the depths of the refreshed app you’ll see another customer complaint addressed.

A couple updates ago, Microsoft provided the ability to customize notifications that are synched between the smartphone and the Microsoft Band. With that update you could choose any or all installed smartphone apps to supply notifications directly to the Microsoft Band screen and notification tile. But, unfortunately, with the long, long list of installed apps, you had to painstakingly go through each and every app to toggle the notification switch on and off. Microsoft had provided no way of selecting, deselecting, or searching apps. In this latest update those features are top and center in the Notification tile editing function. You can quickly choose to add notifications from all apps, deselect all apps at once so you can pick and choose the apps you want to see notifications, and just search through the app list to locate one by name.
