IT/Dev Connections 2016 Speaker Highlight: Mirko Colemberg

Part of an ongoing series, we're highlighting the excellent speakers we have handpicked to present phenomenal and extremely valuable content at the IT/Dev Connections conference. Want more? Get the Insider’s Scoop About IT/Dev Connections 2016 on September 8!

This speaker highlight is Mirko Colemberg.

Mirko's IT/Dev Connection sessions:

Recently, we asked Mirko to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:

ITDC: Give us a brief introduction to you.

Mirko: I’m Mirko Colemberg from Switzerland and I work as a Principal Consultant for baseVISION AG. My company is focused on System Center Configuration Manager and Enterprise Mobility. I am the founder and leader of the UG "Configuration Manager Community Event" in Switzerland (configmgr.ch) and I speak there regularly, too. I also attend Microsoft Events like TechEd and MS Ignite as a MCT-Ambassador involved. My favorite thing to do is brewing my own beer. Every two or three weeks I brew at least 5 gallons of beer.

ITDC: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.

Mirko: I am presenting a session about field experience for Application Management from A-Z. We started working with a new company at the end of last year, that, instead of relying on a physical office utilizes the cloud heavily. We’ve worked very hard in this case to ensure the applications are working and that the user experience is perfect. This case study will be valuable for anyone facing the same problems.

ITDC: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?

Mirko: I think the biggest take away is so offer different thinking and different ways to find a solution. Without knowing what is available and hearing from others who have done it, it can be really hard to see choose the right options for your business.

ITDC: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT/Dev Connections?

Mirko: IT/Dev Connections is a cool conference for everyone. Part of what makes it cool is that its organized by a 3rd party instead of a single vendor. This means you can actually talk during a session like you’re at a user group meeting instead of having to stick to a script handed to you by the vendor. You’re completely free to be interactive with the attendees and ask the audience to give you feedback. As an MVP, I love that kind of session

ITDC: What is the one key technology you believe is changing the technology industry right now?

Mirko: In my opinion, at the moment it’s not a technology, but instead its humans that are changing to adapt to technology. The work I try to explain is about digital transformation. People have to learn how to adapt but it’s the company IT that has to try and make this possible.

ITDC: Assuming attendees want to know, what’s your favorite, non-technical hobby or pastime? What’s one thing that totally irks you.

Mirko: One thing that irks me: When the Beer is empty.
