IT/Dev Connections 2016 Speaker Highlight: Joseph Guadagno

Part of an ongoing series, we're highlighting the excellent speakers we have handpicked to present phenomenal and extremely valuable content at the IT/Dev Connections conference. Want more? Get the Insider’s Scoop About IT/Dev Connections 2016 on September 8!

This speaker highlight is Joseph Guadagno.

Joseph's IT/Dev Connection sessions:

Recently, we asked Joseph to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:

ITDC: Give us a brief introduction to you.

Joseph: I have been in software development for about 20 years or so. I started out with a small book on QuickBASIC, then moved the Visual Basic for DOS, then Visual Basic for Windows, then Visual Basic .NET and eventually Visual C#. I am a Team Leader at Quicken Loans. I am a public speaker and I present internationally on a lot of technology topics, a list of them are available at http://www.josephguadagno.net/presentations/.  I have been recognized as a Microsoft MVP in .NET (since 2009) and in the Friends of Red Gate program (since 2015).

ITDC: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.

Joseph: I'll be speaking on two sessions, Introduction to Bootstrap Components and Improving your Application with IntelliTrace.  The "Bootstrap Components" talks goes deep into how to use the different add-ons or components of Bootstrap. These components are often overlooked and not even used.  I'll show you how easy it is to use them.  The "IntelliTrace" session goes into a little-known feature of Visual Studio called IntelliTrace, probably because it's only available in the Enterprise edition.  We'll walk through how you look at performance problems and exceptions in your application whether is happens on your machine or someone else's.

ITDC: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?

Joseph: I think the biggest things the attendees will get out of my session(s) are the knowledge of features and functionality that are not to widely known.

ITDC: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT/Dev Connections?

Joseph: I love the vibe at the conference. There are great hallway conversations and attendee participation.

ITDC: What is the one key technology you believe is changing the technology industry right now?

Joseph: Not sure

ITDC: Assuming attendees want to know, what’s your favorite, non-technical hobby or pastime? What’s one thing that totally irks you.

Joseph: Baseball and Sci-Fi movies (space and zombie).  I don't know if I have anything that 'irks' me.  There are only a few things that bother me occasionally.
