Part of an ongoing series, we're highlighting the excellent speakers we have handpicked to present phenomenal and extremely valuable content at the IT/Dev Connections conference. Want more? Get the Insider’s Scoop About IT/Dev Connections 2016 on September 8!
This speaker highlight is Christian Wenz.
Christian's IT/Dev Connection sessions:
Recently, we asked Christian to give us a little information about himself. Here's what he shared:
ITDC: Give us a brief introduction to you.
Christian: Hi, I am Christian, and decided 20 years ago that I’d stop doing “real” development and only do web stuff from then on. So far, I’m pretty happy with that decision. I am co-founder of a digital agency in Munich, Germany, and support companies with their web applications. I am also an ASP.NET MVP and ASPInsiders member.
ITDC: Describe the sessions you are presenting and why you feel the topic is important.
Christian: I will speak on JavaScript, security, and performance. These topics actually blend together pretty well: almost no modern web application can do without JavaScript, but this can (or cannot) be detrimental to performance. And without security, publishing a web application or web site is futile. I am excited to discuss pet topics of mine with other conference attendees.
ITDC: What should attendees expect to be able to take away from your sessions?
Christian: I will show which security features are built into modern browsers, and how to use them. I will also cover communication APIs (and their security implications) of JavaScript. Finally, we will measure the frontend performance of our web application, and make it better.
ITDC: What is your primary reason to be excited about IT/Dev Connections?
Christian: The conference features so many different tracks, so I am excited to learn something outside my usual topics. Also, it’s great to meet many old and new conference friends.
ITDC: What is the one key technology you believe is changing the technology industry right now?
Christian: I’d say JavaScript. I support Atwood’s Law: Any software that might be written in JavaScript, will eventually.
ITDC: Assuming attendees want to know, what’s your favorite, non-technical hobby or pastime? What’s one thing that totally irks you.
Christian: I love to travel, and to go to concerts, the bigger the better. One of the last times I’ve been to Vegas I attended a 3.5 hours concert of Guns ‘N Roses. I’m excited who is playing in October when the show is in town!
IT/Dev Connections runs from October 10 – October 13, at the ARIA Resort in Las Vegas. IT/Dev Connections has been designed specifically for IT, DevOps, and Developers. You can read all about what IT/Dev Connections offers you HERE.
