Installing and running normal applications on Windows 8

The new style of Windows 8 has a few people flummoxed when it comes to the question “so how do I install and run a normal application like I would on Windows 7, XP, or Vista when Windows 8 has all that Metro stuff that doesn’t really make sense to me yet”   Rather than try and describe it, it’s easier to show you.
