Hydrate Reminder Feature Satisfied with a Microsoft Band App

New Microsoft Band customers are added all the time. And, as they have time to use and love the functionality of the Microsoft Band, it’s commonplace to start a wish list of capabilities that would make the Band even more useful. But, what’s valuable to one person may not be to another. For example, I’ve seen just a few requests for a Ski activity tile. There’s only a small number of people that would actually benefit from this, but those requesting it are pretty adamant about it. Microsoft is constantly working on new features from customer requests, delivering them in bits and pieces through frequent firmware updates. And, it wouldn’t surprise me if the ability to track Skiing could come in a future release.

Another requested feature, but one that I think has been requested by a bigger majority, is the ability to set a reminder to drink water – or to hydrate. Microsoft recently added a “get up and move” reminder in an update, but nothing to remind you to drink water.

Staying hydrated is a key piece of overall health. Even the mildest dehydration can cause skin dryness, mood swings, and a lack of concentration.

I suspect we’ll see this added to the Band either in a future firmware update or possibly integrated in Band v3, but for now, there’s an app that can help!

Drink O’Band is a Windows Mobile app that runs on your Windows smartphone and sends drink reminders to your Microsoft Band on a schedule that you set. Additionally, directly on the Band you can confirm the amount of water you consume and track your daily progress in a special tile.
