Jacob Saunders, 10th Magnitude’s CTO, has always loved technology but particularly as a means to create impactful business outcomes. A passionate believer in the cloud, he feels strongly that managing large farms of servers should be left to firms for whom it is their core business. Raised in The Netherlands, Jacob started working in tech immediately after high school. He translated a systems administration job for SKF into a role on their global Lotus Notes implementation team while attending the Amsterdam School of Economics and Management at night. He has spent significant time in infrastructure management, application development and Business Intelligence (BI), tackling each of those spheres individually: “I am always looking to take a certain discipline as far as I can,” he says, “and then I go back to the drawing board to broaden my base of knowledge.” As CTO for 10th Magnitude, all of his experience paths converge and he is able to apply a holistic view of technology to the design of hyper-scale cloud solutions. Prior to 10th Magnitude, Jacob added value at Neudesic, Slalom Consulting, and Rightpoint, among others.
