Google Expands Its Google Apps Business Offer to Try and Lure Away Office 365 Customers

On Tuesday, Google outlined an expansion of an earlier program that seeks to curb the seemingly mass adoption of Office 365 over its own Google Apps. Microsoft’s most recent revenue reporting shows that the software company’s cloud-based product suite continues to grow at a fantastic rate.

In October of last year, Google began offering those “locked in” to an Enterprise Agreement (hint: Microsoft Office) can use Google Apps for free until the existing contract expires. However, at the time of that announcement, Google limited the offer to companies between 250 to 3,000 users. The new, expanded offer now opens up the same deal to companies with just 100 users.

To sweeten the deal even more, Google is offering to pay for a Security Workshop (worth $750 USD) for mid-market customers who sign up for the deal. The Security Workshop is delivered by trained Google Apps partners.

As part of the announcement, several Google Apps for Work partners are offering discounts on add-ins including Security Keys, AODocs, Powertools, Dialpad, Powerworks, and Smartsheet.

Google says that its original offering announcement netted the company almost 200,000 users.
