Fujitsu Launches Private Cloud Platform

Company’s NuVola integrated private cloud solution features appliance-based network software tools and utilities

IT solution and technology provider Fujitsu Frontech North America has introduced a new private cloud computing platform called NuVola aimed at easing functional IT process areas of search, storage, multi-media transcoding and data analytics.

NuVola Private Cloud Platform is an appliance-based offering built on Fujitsu server and storage products such as the Eternus storage and Primergy server hardware, and linked with business process software tools and utilities.

Fujitsu Frontech North America creates products like retail point-of-sale terminals, self-checkout systems, kiosks, biometric authentication technology, Ethernet switches, RFID tags and currency handling equipment. A number of technology developers are involved in NuVola, including 10GigE solution developer Myricom, which is specified to provide network adapters for NuVola. Software developer Eucalyptus Systems is providing the platform and web services software layer for NuVola.

The NuVola Private Cloud Platform solution will be progressively launched over the next several weeks, according to the company.
