Q: I'm trying to start my System Center Operations Manager console; however, the console crashes with no specific error other than "The creator of this fault did not specify a reason." What can I do?

A: Every time I've seen this problem, it's because Operations Manager was installed in evaluation mode and the 180 days has expired. You can prove this theory by setting the clock back on the machine and seeing if the Operations Manager console will start. The solution is simple: Add a valid product key for System Center, which can be done as follows:

Set-SCOMLicense -productid "XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

After you reboot the Operations Manager management server, the problem should be resolved.
