First Look: Microsoft Delivers Six Security Bulletins for October 2015

Just six security bulletins this month, but three of them are rated critical – and for good reason. One of the critical updates covers Jscript and VBScript while the other addresses remote execution in the Windows Shell. These are particularly important to patch since the Windows scripting components can be used to do some damaging stuff.

Internet Explorer, of course, gets yet another cumulative update, while Microsoft Edge gets its second in two months – ensuring that eventually Edge may steal away the monthly crown from Internet Explorer for security exposure.

We’ll be digging deeper into what’s included, but for now, here’s what will be available today.
