Configuration levels supported with Windows Server 2016 containers

Q. What configuration levels of Windows Server 2016 support containers?

A. Windows Server 2016 Desktop Experience (server with a GUI), Server Core and Nano Server all can act has container hosts which means they have the container feature installed. Then there are container OS images which form the foundation of containers. When using Windows Containers the container OS images can be Server Core or Nano Server (with Nano Server the only option for the container OS image if running on a Nano server container host). When using Hyper-V Containers the container OS image must be Nano Server. Using Nano Server enables the fast deployment and minimal overhead when using Hyper-V containers.
