Q: How can I get detailed information on the battery state of my Windows 8 laptop?
A: If you want to get information about the battery in your laptop, you can create a very detailed report with all the information about power states and even power use, in a graphical manner. Run the following command in an elevated command prompt:
powercfg /batteryreport
This will create an HTML file that shows details on the available batteries, the recent usage, and even battery life estimates. Below are some samples from the report:
