Can Microsoft uninstall software from my Windows 10 machine?

Q. Is it true Microsoft can uninstall software from my Windows 10 machine if the software is pirated?

A. No. This is a misunderstanding that was broadcasted by a lot of blog sites. The EULA for Windows 10 is available at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Useterms/Retail/Windows/10/UseTerms_Retail_Windows_10_English.htm and note there is nothing in there about Microsoft scanning and removing pirated software. What Microsoft has said relates to their online services that if they find, for example, an application in the Windows Store that pirates software they can remove it from the store. Microsoft does not scan your Windows 10 machine for pirated software nor remove any.
