With SharePoint, Microsoft has created a very powerful, complex, and diverse platform that can serve as an intranet, records management system, social platform, development platform, and many other functions. However, defining the “laws of the land” in the new environment is a task that most organizations fall short on completing.

This session will focus on key areas that need to be governed in a SharePoint 2013 on-premises, Office 365, or hybrid environment and cover general strengths and weaknesses of the out-of-the-box toolset. Approaches to filling those gaps, using out of the box approaches, such as PowerShell, or third party tools, such as ControlPoint, will be covered to help attendees understand the minimum level of management required for an efficient ecosystem.
