HP Builds Load Testing Service on Amazon Web Services Cloud update from September 2014

Adding to its performance testing suite Hewlett Packard announced StormRunner, a new solution that provides a cloud-based platform for application quality testing and delivery. HP said StormRunner will join existing LoadRunner and Performance Center testing solutions in the suite.

The new performance testing service is currently delivered via Amazon Web Services, but the company plans to extend it to its OpenStack cloud called Helion in the future.

Catering to agile development teams HP said that StormRunner addresses the unique needs of agile testing by allowing test scripts to be reused between performance testing solutions and use StormRunner Load to dynamically scale.

Software-as-a-Service delivery model for StormRuner means quick performance testing setup and scaling ability from one tester to more than one million geographically distributed web and mobile users. Genefa Murphy, senior director of go-to-market strategy for application delivery management at HP Software said, "HP StormRunner makes use of Amazon Web Services and, in the future, the HP Helion cloud based on the OpenStack cloud management framework to give developers access to infrastructure resources on demand."
