Q. Do I have to sync password hashs to use Azure AD Domain Services?
A. Yes. When using Azure AD Domain Services the authentication takes place against the Azure AD instance therefore you must sync the user password hash's, it will not use ADFS for authentication. The password hash's must be present for the Kerberos/NTLM authentication.
