The Windows Server 2003 version of the Certutil.exe program should be used formaintenance or troubleshooting on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

The Windows Server 2003 version supports new options, such as ?setextension.

To use the Windows Server 2003 version, create a new folder on Windows 2000, and/or Windows XP, and copy the Certutil.exe, Certadm.dll, and Certcli.dll files from the %SystemRoot%System32 folder of a Windows Server 2003 computer.

NOTE: DO NOT replace the original files and DO NOT register the new .dll files.

NOTE: Be sure to run Certutil.exe program from the new folder.
