Microsoft released Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Edition to manufacturing yesterday. This new highest-end version of NT includes Cluster Server, which enables two NT-based machines to be linked for hot-swapping andfailover. It also supports eight-way symmetric multiprocessing (SMP); NTServer supports only four. Other bundled features include Microsoft Transaction Server and Microsoft Message Queue Server.

Pricing starts at $3999 for a 25-user license. The retail version is duein mid-October
