Microsoft demonstrated next-generation Windows CE devices last week thatfeature new form factors and cool code-names such as "Godzilla" and"Gamera." NEC is the proud owner of these two devices, actually, with Godzilla being a color unit while Gamera is monochrome. Both feature a clamshell design, Windows CE 2.0, and a 66MHz MIPS Vr4000 CPU that will beupgraded to 100MHz sometime next year. Keyboards on the units will be closeto full size, with 5- to 6-inch screens.

Other manufacturers announcing Windows CE 2.0 products include HewlettPackard, Hitachi, Casio, Canon, Fujitsu, and Sharp. Some units will besimilar to existing CE 1.0 devices, while others will follow the new NECdevices into new design territory
