Sega will make its next attempt to wrest control of the home video gamemarket away from Sony and Nintendo this fall when it releases its eagerlyawaited Windows CE-based Dreamcast machine in America. The Dreamcast, whichwent on sale last fall in Japan, will hit American shores on September 9th,selling for $199. The Dreamcast is expected to be a big success, with over30,000 pre-orders from retailers. Sega is expecting over 200,000 pre-ordersby the time it launches.

Sega says the Dreamcast features a 56 Kbps modem so that users can playInternet-based games, browse the Web and get email. One possibility, andthis is rare with game consoles these days, is for Dreamcast to actuallyship with a game, Sega Rally 2
