Q: What is the OpenGL and OpenCL support in Windows Server 10 for RemoteFX?

A: RemoteFX has a number of capabilities, one of which is the ability to virtualize a GPU and present to virtual machines as vGPUs. However, the virtualized GPU was focused around DirectX and didn't improve other types of graphics interfaces that still used the CPU. In Windows Server 10, the RemoteFX capabilities are improved to now support OpenGL and OpenCL, specifically OpenGL 4.4 and OpenCL 1.1, which will enable the RemoteFX virtualized GPU to improve many engineering and design-type applications. In addition, administrators can customize the amount of VRAM allocated to VMs.
