The excitement over getting my first post-M3 build of Windows 7 is dimmed somewhat by the fact that there are no hidden new features included here. Yes, there are some colorful new wallpapers, and of course the new Windows 7 taskbar is completely up and running this time around. But unlike with M3, Windows 7 build 6941 doesn't have a number of hidden features waiting to be exposed. In fact, some hidden M3 features--like the desktop slideshow feature--are simply missing in action in this build. All that said, build 6941 is stable and appears to be near-feature-complete. And it reinforces my contention that Microsoft will be able to ship this new OS far more quickly than most people realize.
