Q: Is there any way to still use Windows 7 Gadgets on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1?
A: A reader brought this to my attention. It's useful for all those who miss the desktop gadgets that were native to Windows 7.
Someone has created an installer that enables the Windows 7 gadgets for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Download it from Winaero. Once installed, the Gadgets context menu is added back to the desktop and enables gadgets to be displayed on the desktop.
Hello again, Clock and CPU usage! Note that this is not supported by Microsoft in any way.
