Microsoft to Hold Windows 10 Consumer Event on January 21

Microsoft will reveal the next major milestone for Windows 10 at a press and analysts event at its corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington. Set for January 21, 2015, this full-day event will focus on consumer-oriented features coming in the next Windows.

I was told that Satya Nadella, Terry Myerson, Joe Belfiore, Phil Spenser and other Microsoft executives would attend the briefing, and that parts of it would be broadcast on the web. This will also be a longer event than the initial Windows 10 announcement, which was held in San Francisco on September 30.

I actually haven't been to the Microsoft campus in a while, so this will be quite interesting on a number of levels. And there are many people there I need to catch up with, beyond any of the Windows 10 stuff. But I think everyone is collectively looking forward to what Microsoft has to say about the consumer aspects of Windows 10, and the combining of Windows Phone and Windows.

I'll add more to this when the official invite arrives. But that's what I know so far.

Update: Here's the invite.

Update 2: The main part of the briefing will be webcast live, so you can watch from home.
