PASS Continues to Grow and Educate the SQL Server Community
This year’s PASS Summit 2013 marked the second year in a row that the attendance for the conference was over 5,000 attendees who experienced three days of over 190 technical sessions.

This year’s PASS Summit 2013 marked the second year in a row that the attendance for the conference was over 5,000 attendees who experienced three days of over 190 technical sessions, plus two days of pre-conference workshops. Notably, this year’s PASS Summit 2013 in Charlotte, North Caroline, had over 1,500 newcomers. The PASS organization itself has grown to over 125,000 members representing 79 countries.

Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) Events
In addition to their annual Summit, PASS also hosts a number of other events that are intended to help educate SQL Server professionals. This past year, PASS hosted their first ever Business Analytics Conference in Chicago that drew over 900 attendees. In addition, PASS organizes their popular SQLSaturday events. This past year, PASS ran 81 SQLSaturday events with 31 of those events outside the U.S. About 50 percent of the attendees were first-time attendees.
Outside the U.S., PASS will continue to hold their SQLRally events. SQLRally regional events are multiday mini-summit. This year PASS will hold two SQL Rally events in November. The first will be in Stockholm, November 4–6, and the second SQLRally will be held in Amsterdam, November 6–8.
PASS will close out 2013 with two virtual 24 Hours of PASS events. The Portugal edition will be November 13–14, and the Spanish edition will be held December 12–13.
2014 SQL Server PASS Conferences
Next year, the PASS Summit 2014 will return to Seattle on November 4-7, and next year’s Business Analytics conference will be in San Jose on May 7–9.
