Buying a third-party SQL Server solution can be a catch-22 at times because the software might be able help you do your job better and faster, but the time it takes to learn how to use the tool can set you back. However, there’s not much of a learning curve with Attunity’s heterogeneous data replication product, Attunity CDC Suite for SSIS, because it fully integrates with both SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS).

Attunity CDC Suite for SSIS is a non-intrusive log-based technology that lets you capture and replicate changes made between heterogeneous databases. It works remotely and doesn’t require anything to be installed on the data server. And the latest version of the product has been certified to work with the most recent SQL Server 2008 R2 CTP.

This product offers log-based Change Data Capture (CDC) for SQL Server 2008, 2005, and 2000; a management console that enables you to monitor and control heterogeneous replication on your databases, and support for data replication into many target databases.

This product supports SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2005, and SQL Server 2000 and works on Standard Edition as well as Enterprise Edition. Attunity CDC Suite for SSIS’s pricing is based on the number of CPUs on the SSIS machine, and it starts at $2,500 per CPU. Earlier this week, Attunity announced that it’s partnering with expressor software, which offers a semantic data integration product. The companies plan to extend expressor’s semantic data integration capabilities with Attunity Integration Suite’s real-time heterogeneous CDC capabilities.
