Q. If I install Client Access Server (CAS) on an Exchange 2010 Mailbox Server that's a member of a Database Availability Group (DAG), can I still use software to load balance the CAS?

A. No, you can't have failover clustering and network load balancing on the same server. Even though using DAGs doesn't require you to configure failover clustering, the failover clustering feature is still being used under the hood, so you can't also use network load balancing. To provide load balancing between multiple CAS servers that are installed on DAG mailbox servers, you need to use a hardware load balancer or a solution such as ISA Server.
