DevProConnections readers pick their favorite developer products of 2011

Our annual awards program -- the DevProConnections Community Choice Awards -- lets our readers select their favorites from a range of developer products that are nominated by the developer and vendor community. This year, more than 6,200 members of the DevProConnections developer community cast their votes in 26 product categories, spanning a wide spectrum of offerings. Two perennial contenders, Developer Express and Telerik, continued their longtime rivalry in this year's voting, taking both Gold and Silver awards in many categories -- thus maintaining their dominance in the developer market. But many other terrific products made impressive showings in all categories.
Choosing favorites from such a competitive field-not to mention in the midst of such a financially unstable market-can be a challenge, but this year's winners show an uncommon breadth of functionality and originality. Products succeed when they meet a genuine need in the market and, as these Community Choice selections demonstrate, many products do just that for Windows developers.
