telerik announced its Q1 2007 release, which outlines thenext steps in the company s strategic direction. Q1 2007 includes RadControlsfor ASP.NET, RadControlsfor WinForms, the first official version of TelerikReporting, and a new suite code-named RadControls Prometheus for ASP.NET.

 RadControls Prometheus is the successor of RadControls for ASP.NET. The Prometheus components are builtentirely on top of ASP.NET AJAX, utilizing its common programming model. Thefirst version of this new suite is available with a Beta Go-live license andwill be launched commercially in 2008, after Visual Studio Orcas is releasedand after Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX becomes an integral part of the ASP.NETframework.

 One of the focalpoints of the Q1 release is the expansion of the RadControls suite forWinForms, a Vista-style UI suite for desktop development. telerik has addedthree major controls to the UI suite: RadGridView, RadTreeView, and RadChart.Unified by the Telerik Presentation Framework, the new products will deliver enhancedperformance and extensibility, combined with unique Vista-style UI featureslike Flash-like animations, scaling, rotation, transparencies, and alphablending.

 This release also bringsthe addition of Telerik Reporting. This new report generation engine offers aconvenient object model and solid Visual Studio 2005 integration to allowcustomers to easily generate Win, Web, and PDF reports. Telerik Reporting offersdrag and drop databinding, the ability to plug in custom renderers, a VisualStudio-identical datasource wizard, a fine-grained CSS-like styling mechanism, aset of measurement units, and other features that can accelerate the creationand styling of company reports.
