Ripcord Software Releases IISxpress 2.0

Ripcord Software, a developer of software tools forMicrosoft s Internet Information Server (IIS), announced the release ofIISxpress 2.0, a compression engine for IIS 5.0/5.1/6.0 based on the ZLIBcompression library. Version 2.0 introduces native 64-bit support, newconfiguration wizards, performance improvements, and a new Community Edition thatis free for non-commercial, non-governmental use.

IISxpress uses anopt-out rule model to simplify configuration; all content is compressed unlessconfigured otherwise. Although IISxpress is pre-configured with a set ofdefault rules when first installed, you can add and remove rules as you seefit. IISxpress supports rules based on the extension of the file requested, theMIME (content type) type of the response, the path of the request (URI), or thesource IP address of the client.

IISxpress also allowsyou to track compression effectiveness at the server level, right down to eachindividual request. This allows you to fine tune your server s performance forreal-world loading.

IISxpress supportsASP.NET and targets Internet Web site administrators, intranet Web site administrators, and Web site developers. It sports a user-friendly interface and real-timecompression performance monitoring, and supports Windows 2003/2000/XPProfessional.
